Pahiyas

Due to a lot of suspended classes for preschool because of the recent typhoons, STI's celebration of Linggo ng Wika with theme "Pahiyas" was delayed by a week. It was the first school event for the school year that parents and families were allowed to watch inside the social hall.

Because I am a stage mom, I always file a leave from work when there's a school event coming because I wanted to give my full support to Yonky. However, I was made aware of the student-only affairs during the Nutrition Month celebration because I thought we can freely take pictures and go inside the classrooms but much to my dismay... we were blocked. I was glad I wasn't the only mom trying to get in though =p (most of the parents even blatantly disregarded the school rules and still went inside until they were forced out by the school's founder and the doors were locked like we were some kind of undisciplined outsiders hehehe.

So I was glad that finally for this celebration, we were able to watch our little bulilits perform on stage! I was so impressed by the STI Preschool's arrangement, knowing full well that parents would be clamoring for a chance to take precious videos and pictures of their little ones, they'd freed up the first four lines of chairs in the social hall so that the parents of kids who will be performing can go there when it's their child's turn to perform... "everybody happy".

There was even a contest for best decoration of the classrooms wherein parents and guardians were asked to help decorate two weeks before the event. Yonky and I enjoyed going through each and every classrooms to take some pictures before the Pahiyas celebration started.

During the Pahiyas, I was finally able to put faces on some of Yonky's classmates that I knew only by name because Yonky would recite their names when I asked who his new friends are and because of the list that the school provided in the circular...

His favorite berks are Scott, Charles and Kaleb while his favorite girls are the twins Monique and Valeen.  Here are the complete list of the morning nursery class.... (really wanted to get their full names so I could search them in fb and tell Yonky about them even if we move to Australia).

a. Aba, Charles Adrianne
b. Ablaza, Ryan Vincent
c. Cabauatan, Ryhon Klarenz
d. Jalgalado, Kaleb Lucian
e. Misoles, Victoria Monica
f. Misoles, Valeen Manuela
g. Wong, Scott Jacob
h. Engaling, Charmine Ann

Hope you guys would cross paths again someday!!! God bless!

When I got Yonky's report card and evaluation sheets recently showing that his rank#1, I was asked if I wanted to move Yonky to the more advanced afternoon class but my husband, me and my mom decided not to since we don't want to stress Yonky out and besides he has already made some good friends in his class and I don't want him to re-adjust himself again when we only intend for him to finish the school year here.

Also we were already so grateful that he's learning so much at school... so amazing, his focus and skills in writing and coloring has definitely improve in the last 3 months..hurrah!

More Power STI!
